The Third China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was inaugurated on May 28 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. It was the first time that the BAIC Group has participated in CIFTIS, and it became the “Strategic Partner” and “Officially Designated Vehicle” supplier of the current CIFTIS. The fleet of 127 support vehicles provided by the BAIC Group consisted mainly of its proprietary brands vehicles and new energy products, including Senova A5, E150 electric vehicles, and Beiqi Foton products.
In an interview with reporters during CIFTIS, Yang Weizhi, BAIC INTL Senior Vice President elaborated on the global development strategy of BAIC International Development Co., Ltd (BAIC INTL). BAIC INTL has five core businesses, namely, export of proprietary brands finished vehicles and spare parts; import of technologies, equipment and finished vehicles, etc., product modifications, overseas investments, and international cooperation. With hard work and much perseverance, Beijing Auto aims to establish regional operations centers in West Asia, Central Asia, Africa, South America and other regions in 3 to 5 years to achieve its strategic goal of internationalization in terms of talents, markets, products, brand recognition and management across the globe.
CIFTIS is a state-level, international and comprehensive trade in services platform. It has received perennial support from three international organizations, namely, World Trade Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. It is currently the only comprehensive trade in services platform in the world that covers the 12 major fields of trade in services as defined by the World Trade Organization. It is also the window to China’s strategy of “Opening to the Outside World”.
