BAIC X424 Modified Versions are Coming Soon!

Since the launch of its first SUV X424 last year, BAIC Group has been working hard on targeted variations in the off-road line. As always, BAIC Group puts the “off-road” spirit at the forefront, while it is determined to expand the possibilities for the class by creating a SUV Research Institute. Because of this major step, BAIC Group will be able to offer 4 new variations based on the X424 model this year. These models are expected to strengthen the company’s overall competitiveness. The development of these new versions is the result of the successful cooperation between BAIC Intl, Transamerican Auto Parts aka TAP (the American industry leader in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of off-road parts for Jeeps and light trucks) and Shandong Zhongsheng Investment Co., Ltd. The company in question was named BAIC TAP Off-Road Technology Co., Ltd. and was created out 120 million RMB in investment gathered by the three parent companies. Moreover, BAIC TAP will be in charge of the various vehicle modifications (e.g. interior design, equipment and entertainment system), the development of customized kits and the production of the modified models.In addition to the launch of the X424, BAIC TAP is also planning modifications to the X4L and the X6.

The launch of the X4 modified series is the first of its kind and follows along the same lines as the Jeep Wrangler, who has already launched a variety of official customized versions: The Dragon Edition, Sahara, and Rubicon, amongst others.

This is a significant evolution for BAIC Group, and Mr. XU Heyi, chairman of the board, declared: “We are determined to make BAIC become the leader in the field of car modifications.”
