On September 2, 2014, the China Enterprise Confederation released its list of the top 500 Chinese companies. BAIC Group featured prominently in the list at a fantastic 40th place. BAIC’s deputy general manager Cai Suping said that during the last years, BAIC had shown great progress and a remarkable speed while further developing the brand and expanding internationally. According to the deputy general manager, BAIC Group would continue to make progress and excel, based on strategic concepts such as high-end production, quality service, internationalization and low-carbon emission standards.
In his keynote speech, entitled “win-win cooperation in the future; hand in hand towards the world” and delivered to an audience of many elite Chinese entrepreneurs, BAIC Group’s deputy general manager went on to say that in order to maintain and increase its momentum of global expansion, China must cultivate a number of world-class, multi-national enterprises. BAIC would make every effort to advance toward the goal of internationalization.
BAIC Group has truly made a great effort to go global. The company has many commitments overseas and has acquired key technologies from Sweden’s Saab Automobile as well as the Netherlands’ INALFA to improve its global competitiveness. Moreover, BAIC has invested in factories in more than 20 countries, including the Netherlands, Russia and Kenya. Vehicles and parts are being exported to over 80 countries and regions worldwide. Founded in June 2013, BAIC International Development Co., Ltd is a dedicated company in charge of BAIC’s overseas operations. In July 2014, BAIC Group ranked 248 in the Global Fortune 500 list.
