In October 2014, leading media representatives from Chile and Peru visited BAIC Group in China. During the visit, the guests toured BAIC Group’s industry R&D base and its Beijing and Zhuzhou plants. Thanks to this visit, the journalists from the Chilean and Peruvian media gained a deep understanding of BAIC’s systems and the group’s entire industry chain. Mr. Dong Haiyang, President of BAIC International, said, “The Chilean and Peruvian markets are of strategic significance in the development of BAIC International. We will stage other similar events in the future so that more media representatives and consumers will have the chance to experience the BAIC brand and its products firsthand.”
During their visit to BAIC Group’s History and Culture Exhibition Hall, the Chilean and Peruvian media representatives were greatly impressed with the long history and strong independent R&D capabilities of BAIC Group. The Beijing and Zhuzhou plants are BAIC’s important core manufacturing business units. Accompanied by BAIC International’s executives, the Chilean and Peruvian journalists visited the stamping, body, coating and assembly workshops and took a test ride in some of BAIC’s cars. The visitors expressed great praise for BAIC’s two plants, noting that they are high-quality, high-level modern auto manufacturing bases in line with world-class standards. They were highly confident about the development prospects for BAIC products in the Chilean and Peruvian markets.

Its business operations cover the car, truck, bus, engineering machinery and motorbike fields. In 2013, the group achieved a business turnover of $1.65 billion and sold 83,300 cars.
