The 15th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition was opened on April 25, 2018. Themed with “Innovation for the Future,” BAIC Group brought its BAIC Motor, Changhe, BAIC BJEV, BHAP, BGAC, BAIC Mobility and other member units to elaborately present a technological feast. This year, BAIC Group highlighted the innovations of new energy, intelligence, networking and lightweight technology innovation as well as innovative products in travel service model, demonstrated the charm of its own brand culture in the new era, and exhibited with international partners Daimler and Hyundai to reflect its international brand image.
On the morning of April 25th, BAIC Group held a grand press conference to announce its new development strategy and new product – EU5, a pure electric A-Class sedan. Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Group, delivered a speech and emphasized: “To face the future, we will take scientific and technological innovation as our fundamental driving force and create a new era of 'independent innovation'. We will adopt a direction of new energy development and create a new path for 'green industry'. The intelligent networking is a 'trump card' and has created a new era of 'Smart Driving'. With service transformation as the focus, it has created a new blueprint for 'shared traveling'."
During the exhibition, BAIC Group created a new picture for the audience with a more vivid and touchable future travel life through technological innovation achievements.

As one of the earliest enterprises to develop electric automobile industry in China, BAIC Group has established the most comprehensive pure electric passenger vehicle product system. At the exhibition, BAIC Group sent an unprecedented lineup of electric automobile. More than half of all exhibits were electric vehicles and their core components, demonstrating major advances in its electric automotive products. Among them, the endurance of EU5 (a pure-electric A-Class sedan that released on the first day of the exhibition) exceeded 500 kilometers, representing the new height of BAIC Group's electric vehicle technology.
Creating and Enjoying Smart Life
Car in the future will not only be the vehicle, it will be highly integrated with human beings, and will boost a high degree of intelligence and automatic operation capability, liberating people's hands and brains. The "Nova-PLS" intellectualization strategy of BAIC Group is to realize the high intellectualization of automobiles by taking the three major areas of Nova-Pilot, Nova-Link, and Nova-Space as breakthrough points.
The L0 driver assistance system has been installed on BAIC’s brand new D50 models. According to the plans, in the second half of this year, models equipped with L1-class driving assistance systems will also reach volume production. L2-class driving assistance systems and L3-class autopilot technology are also available for automotive products, which are also expected to be mass-produced in the next two years.
Creating and Enjoying Efficient Life
Sharing is one of the core spirits of the Internet, which is moving from the Internet to the real world. At present, car-sharing that are vigorously promoted by BAIC Group has already entered a dozen major cities in the country. During the exhibition, the shuttle bus service provided by BAIC Mobility, a travel service platform of BAIC Group, used this shared model to solve the “last two kilometers” from the parking lot to the exhibition hall. The audience can enjoy free rides.
In recent years, driverless technology has progressed significantly and many companies have already tested it. At the exhibition, BAIC Group launched its pilotless test ride at the Shunyi Olympic Water Park, demonstrating the latest developments in the complete solution for BAIC's driverless vehicle commercialization, including passenger cars such as LITE and EU260, as well as smart network cloud control platform.
