On March 20, BAIC’s compact home SUV X55 was launched in northern Chile’s city of La Serena. Among over 60 attendees were Dong Haiyang, President of BAIC International; Francini Amaral, Chilean dealer of BAIC International and the endorser of BAIC in Chile; as well as journalists from more than 20 local mainstream media outlets. They attended the launch conference and test-rode the new car.
As an important market via which Chile forged into South America, Chile has always been the main front for BAIC’s overseas business development. Since the appearance of BAIC’s full independent-branded car series in Santiago in November 2014, BAIC has gradually enhanced its brand popularity and reputation through automotive exhibition, bazaar, test riding, media visit and advertising. The launch of the new model-X55 has not only effectively extended BAIC’s product resources and perfected its product system, but also offered Chilean consumers an all-round professional new SUV experience, laying a solid foundation for BAIC’s rapid development in South America.
In 2017, BAIC sped up “globalization” and steadily implemented its globalization strategy. In the future, BAIC will launch more new products such as SUV, car, pickup and MPV, and develop businesses such as new energy, automotive mobile, automotive leasing and used car, in an effort to build BAIC into an international brand favored and respected by consumers in South America.
